Accessibility statement

Our commitment

CHAIR Hair Salon wants as many people as possible to be able to use this website. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

• Pages use a logical heading structure, lists and landmarks, including a main content landmark, so screen reader users can move around them.
• Every page starts with a skip link. Press Tab once when a page loads, then Enter, to move focus straight to the main content.
• Links, buttons, the main menu, the FAQ answers and the enquiry forms can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and show a visible focus outline.
• You can zoom the page up to 400% and the content reflows into a single column without loss of information or sideways scrolling.
• Text and background colours have been chosen to meet the AA contrast ratio.
• Images carry descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
• Animation and movement are switched off automatically if your device is set to reduce motion.
• The layout works from small phones upwards without horizontal scrolling.
• Form fields have visible labels, and required fields and errors are announced rather than shown by colour alone.

Known issues

• The embedded map on the contact page is provided by Google and we do not control its accessibility. The full address is written out in text next to it, and on every page in the footer, so you never need the map to find us.
• Photography currently includes some stock images while we arrange a photography session at the salon. Alternative text is in place for all of them.
• Screen readers: we have not yet tested every page with a full range of screen readers. If anything is announced incorrectly, please tell us.

If any part of this site does not work for you, everything on it is available another way. Call the salon on 0121 350 8367 during opening hours, or email hello@chairsalon.co.uk, and we will read out prices, take a booking or answer a question directly.

If you find something that is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, email hello@chairsalon.co.uk or call 0121 350 8367. Tell us the page and what went wrong and we will fix it or find you another way to get what you need.

Enforcement

CHAIR Hair Salon is a private business, so the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to this website. We do have a duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments for disabled customers. If you are unhappy with how we respond to a complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service at equalityadvisoryservice.com.
